Artist: Learsi Zurc
Learsi Zurc is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores the psychological and emotional landscapes that shape human experience. Through painting, Zurc transforms intangible internal states into immersive visual environments, inviting viewers to confront feeling as place, movement, and atmosphere rather than simple expression.
Rooted in the belief that emotion is not static but spatial, Zurc’s work bridges inner life with external world. Urban environments, lived experience, and shifting mental states inform compositions that move between tension and stillness, clarity and distortion, control and surrender. The result is work that feels less observed and more entered — spaces where viewers recognize something they have felt but may not have had language for.
Zurc is the creator of artisanto adjectives, an evolving series that interprets emotional states as visual worlds. Each piece functions as both portrait and environment, examining how feelings shape perception, memory, and presence. With select works grounded in Baltimore City landscapes, Zurc connects personal psychology with physical place, suggesting that who we are is inseparable from where we are.
Working at the intersection of emotion, environment, and identity, Learsi Zurc’s practice centers on one core pursuit: giving visual form to the unseen forces that move us.
